*I'm still in the process of tranfering photos over after switching website platforms, so bear with me. So, we went and checked out The Play Destination in Agoura today, AND IT WAS AWESOME! The location is a little bit unassuming at first... it's in the lot with the Reed's Furniture Store off Kanan/Canwood (it's located at the right corner). But, once you're inside, the space is large, welcoming, and well laid out. Tip! *Make sure to bring a pair of socks for YOU. Kids can play with shoes/or socks on, parents, socks only. We were greeted by Oz and Natasha, the new owners (since about three weeks ago), and despite having FIVE kids of their own to wrangle (the youngest being just six months old), they didn't look nearly like the half-hazard mess I am on a daily basis with ONE child.
I mean, just look at how beautiful this family is. Oh, back to our experience! AB BEE-LINED for trains and spent a good hour being absolutely fascinated by the trains and cars. I guess I need to buy her some trains and cars. Now this place had a little something for every kid (6 and under). There was the large bounce-house at the back, the multiple slide options, the ball pit, the cars to drive around in, the costume/dress-up area, kitchen sets, books and reading areas, megablocks, space to run around.... I mean everything. Can you imagine cleaning up this at the end of the day and then going home to clean up after five kiddos?! HA, these people are saints. And at $10 for one, $18 for two kids, this is a steal. AB played to her heart's content for two and a half hours before realizing it was nap time. And you know what's glorious? I can write this because she's conked out after getting all of her energy out while I lounged on one of the sofas. Wiiiiiinnnnnnning. They had lots of look reading and play nooks, like the one to the left. AB especially loved this table and all of the books to check out that she doesn't have at home. And to the right is a glimpse of the dress-up and costume area! There's a mirror to the right of the clothes so that your kiddos can check out their new looks! The ball pit was a huge hit with the kiddos as well, when they weren't driving around in all of the different cars (and there were tons to choose from)! The seating area was great as well because it has a perfect view of the entire play area. They have juice and water and snacks for the kids, and it's a nut-free environment. Did I mention... COFFEE? If you didn't have a chance to grab a cup on your, they've got you covered! Oz and Natasha have a lot of new things in store for The Play Destination. They're working on adding mommy and me type classes and more activity-based days, which is all down the line as they continue to settle in as the new owners! I'm super grateful to them for generously donating 50% of today's profits to Conejo Community Outreach. How awesome is that, seriously? And they hope to make this a bi-monthly event! They have new, extended hours and will have open play on weekends, pending on availability! Give them a call to learn more about them, (818) 292-8644, or check them out on their Facebook Page to get the scoop on their upcoming events, classes, and activities! We picked up a 6-pass visit for $50 and I know Grandma AB is excited to have a new place to take AB on the weekdays while I'm working.
