It's Halloween and most ladies are putting on their sexiest corsets and smokey-eye makeup for the festivities.
I too, have decided to dress up.... as the sexiest Concerned Citizen (CC) you'll ever see. And by sexy, I mean sleep-deprived pregnant woman on Zantac, dressed up as a Concerned Citizen.
WHY, MIGHT YOU ASK?
Well, it occurred to me that every community worth its weight has its own version of a "Concerned Citizen." Today, I am that CC. I like to picket.... everything. Even student bake sales if they're four feet too close to the entrance of a store! Most definitely anything that violates the Brown Act. AND, if you DARE include in donations in a PTA from ANY businesses that have the word "bar" in their business, I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN.
I make sure to go to every meeting for everything, everywhere, that has anything to do with any community event. But, before I go, I stay up all night (it's help shape my CC mood), read all the laws known to mankind on any given event, permit, etc. and then I come prepared to meeting, with binders of printouts in order to whip the electeds into shape.
They are here to serve MY -- err -- I mean, the community's "best interest" after all!
And most importantly, my FAVORITE pastime is threatening to serve up some cease and desist letters... to every single person I run into.
But HERE'S REALLY WHY I'M DOING ALL OF THIS:
To raise $$$$$ for Conejo Community Thanksgiving's Community Thanksgiving!
Each year, CCO puts on a Conejo Community Thanksgiving. Each $50 received in donations help us prepare an entire Thanksgiving Day meal package for a local family for whom the expense would otherwise be a hardship.
The more I receive in donations, the more I do. To UNLOCK THE PHOTO of my finished look, I'm hoping to get in a few more donations (I'm currently at $550!) If we hit $1,000 I will go to the district office and stand on the corner with my signs and share pictures.
DONATE FOR A GREAT CAUSE TODAY, HERE.
Thanks for supporting me, my nonprofit and local families in our community!
