It's time to start collecting toys for the Safe Passage Youth Foundation Holiday Event!
This year, Safe Passage is looking to gather toys for 600 kids in Conejo Valley.
We have a lot of generous community members who regularly donate to toys for tots drop-boxes, but did you know that those toys do not go to children in our County? Safe Passage supports hundreds of children right here in Conejo Valley, who are among our most vulnerable. |
WAYS TO DONATE
1. THROUGH ME.
As you know, the past two years, I have collected donations and purchased gifts in bulk to donate. If it's easier for you to support this way, I'm happy to do that again. I will be taking donations up until December 10, and shopping the weekend of the 11th. Please make sure you put "Safe Passage Toy Drive" in memo line. I keep a log of all donations, amounts, and post receipt totals upon purchase. Paypal: paypal.me/jessweihe Venmo: jessica-weihe-1 You can also drop off UNWRAPPED toys to my house, and I will deliver before the event. (Reach out for my address). |
3. DROP OFF UNWRAPPED TOY(S) (between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday)
Drop off by Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. You can also have a toy shipped from Amazon (but sometimes the delivery gets a bit tricky if you can't specify time/day for Amazon to deliver the community center when they're open.) Make sure it's addressed to Safe Passage Youth Foundation, if doing so.
- Conejo Community Center: 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
- Borchard Community Center : 190 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park, CA 91320
- Thousand Oaks Community Center: 2525 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360

WHAT TO GET
There is no specific Amazon Wishlist for the kids. I do know they've asked for no toy weapons (e.g. no toy guns, toy swords, etc.), and nothing too big, no stuffed animals.) Toys that are always welcome and a hit:
Age ranges are between 1st-6th (ages 6-11), the average grade - grade 4, equally split between boys and girls. Average gift they receive for a child is usually between a $10-25 range. They also do support some high school-aged children as well, so some toys for 12-14 range also appreciated.
- Games
- Legos
- Super hero stuff
- Sports sets (they love getting soccer and basketballs!)
- Electronic cars/robots
- Makeup & spa-like type kits as well
- Dolls (lol surprise, etc.)
