It Takes a Community
UPDATE: WE HAVE RAISED THE $9,000!
I have set up a Facebook fundraiser to support this effort. (We've already raised a previous $1,500 toward this playground from a past fundraiser, which is accounted for in the above fundraising total.) If you prefer to donate another way, please email me at [email protected] to coordinate.

The Cause
Safe Passage Youth Foundation has all of the playground equipment to put together a playground for the more than 100 vulnerable kids, grades K-6, it supports through mentorship, programs, camps, projects, pathways and more. This playground is slated to be built at Conejo Creek (formally Las Casitas Condos) in Thousand Oaks, once they have the funds to do so.
Just one problem: the playground equipment installation requires a special permitted contractor, and the quotes have come in at $9,000 to install the equipment to code. That's where we all need to come in. Let's make a difference for these kids, together.

About Safe Passage Youth Foundation
Safe Passage Youth Foundation is a community of organizations; Conejo Recreation and Park District, Schools, Nonprofits, Volunteers, Health Care providers, Businesses and the Thousand Oaks Police Department focused on helping make pathways for K-6 grade children in order to avoid being enticed into gangs. Since 2014, the local gang population has been decreased 34.8% because of Safe Passage. A 25 year record low.
Safe Passage is unique. It brings the power of community to the children, daily, and year-round right where they live in vulnerable micro-communities. They are parents, recreation leaders, police officers, librarians, teachers and high school volunteers.

ABOUT THE SPONSORS
They Goebel Family (Megan, Kelly, Hayden & Harper), have generously made a contribution that accounts for 37% ($3,355) of this playground, to help us secure the final funding needed to move forward on construction. I am beyond grateful to this family and to everyone who made a contribution. As such, I dub them queen and king of everything forever.
