There's LOTS of stuff coming up in the next few weeks. Here's a few events to check out. Hope to see you there!  SIPURBIA! Saturday, April 27, 3-7 p.m. at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas (2 p.m. for VIP tix) A portion of proceeds from ticket sales is donated to the Bumblebee Foundation, which provides support to families battling pediatric cancer. Beer. Wine. Music. Food. Charity. Memories. SIPurbia is a local festival in the burbs where you can find craft breweries and wineries together, with food trucks and live music from every decade that will get you dancing....all for a great cause! SIPurbia will feature UNLIMITED* samples of craft beer and wine. Delicious food, awesome live bands/DJs, lawn games, and a variety of vendors will round out the day. Sunday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Arts Plaza - Kavli Theatre Paint | Draw | Sculpt | Write - Art for all ages! In honor of Earth Day, come spend a couple hours with us in the lobby of the Fred Kavli Theatre and create beautiful recycled art. This event is hosted by the Thousand Oaks Alliance for the Arts (TOARTS) through its Art with Heart initiative. The mission of Art with Heart is to provide low cost arts experiences to the whole family. All supplies and instruction provided in partnership with Art Trek. Kids third grade and under are free, but parents attending are required to buy a ticket. Every child attending needs to be registered using the 'free tickets' registration. Just $5 for 4th graders+ and adults. We'll be there with the kids! The awards ceremony will be held on May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the The Canyon Club & Special Events Center. Can't wait to celebrate my friends on the list and all of these working professionals.  The Chili Cookoff! Sunday, May 5 (behind the T.O. Library!) Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, this annual regional CHILI COOK OFF and CRAFT BREW FESTIVAL is full of family fun with midway games, kids zone, live music, craft vendors, food and beverages. This annual event by the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks raises money for local, community organizations, such as Special Olympics, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Senior Concerns, My Stuff Bags, and much much more. We LOVE this event and have made it annual tradition with friends to attend. Tix >>> HERE.  Ventura County Mobile Library Launch and Ribbon Cutting! May 7, 1:30 p.m at the VC Government Center.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME! This is a family-friendly COMMUNITY event! WHERE: Ventura County Government Center, outside courtyard (facing Victoria and Thille, between the HOA and HOJ buildings). The Ventura County Library System's (VCLS) Mobile Library IS HERE and will be available for all to tour. VCLS staff will be on-hand to answer questions, and will also have STEM activities set up for children to participate in. Refreshments will be provided by Ventura County Library Foundation. The mobile library will serve communities with collections that include materials for teens, adults and seniors in English and Spanish and will provide service to the underserved areas in the county, where people may not have have access to library services and materials otherwise. IN THE MOBILE LIBRARY: *Popular materials for all ages and in multiple formats (books, DVDs, audiobooks) *Checkout and return *Free Wi-Fi *Wireless Printing *Laptop lending *3D Printing *STEAM & Makerspaces activities *Storytimes *Class visits AND MORE! **** For those who would like to attend the official presentation, please first meet in the Board of Supervisors board room, where there will be a formal presentation, prior to the the mobile library tour.
